Thank you for checking us out. We are located on South Bruny Island Tasmania an hour total drive and a 15 minute ferry ride south of the city of Hobart.
We are situated on 300 acres of beautiful covenanted forest and grazing land. The views are stunning and the fresh air is sweet and crisp. Our unpolluted skies provide fresh drinking water and its very soft to shower in. We have vegetable gardens and a blueberry and fruit tree orchard.
We have a 220m² gallery, a full wood working shop, naturally lit spaces for painting and a large shed for the boat building and wood working activities.
It’s really quiet here and only occasionally can you hear a far off vehicle. The forest can, however, roar as the southerly brisk wind blows in from the Southern Ocean all the way from Antarctica. The night sky is spectacular and free of light pollution and the space shuttle passes over frequently at night. A ‘night sky’ application on the phone is worthwhile.
Our property has an abundance of wildlife and is a bird watchers paradise. Endangered species such as the forty spotted pardalote, swift parrot and white goshawk are all present. Not to mention the flame robins, European goldfinches, new Holland honey eaters, skylarks, hawks and eagles and heaps more. We also have a resident white wallaby and deer are seen occasionally passing through.
Our café serves up fresh hearty hot soups and delicious hot melt sandwiches. For our students, evening home cooked meals are the order of the day and a scoop of ice cream and blueberries aren’t going to ruin the diet.
Come see us and for a remote, unique experience.
